History of the NWACC Foundation

The NorthWest Arkansas Community College Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which operates exclusively to encourage support and aid in the continual development of NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) and to solicit, accept, hold, invest, and administer any gifts, bequests or property of any sort for this educational purpose.

Incorporated in 1991, the NWACC Foundation is governed by a maximum 30-person Board of Directors comprised of business and community leaders who believe strongly in the value of education and workforce development.  The Board is committed to helping the College become a high performing institution that consistently meets and exceeds the needs and expectations of the communities it serves.

The Foundation has grown over the years, along with the College, and helped to steward gifts in support of scholarships, endowments, capital and major gifts.  In 2010, the NWACC Foundation celebrated the successful completion of its first-ever comprehensive capital campaign, resulting in $16 million to fund capital projects and a scholarship endowment.  In 2018, the Foundation launched a new $12 million capital campaign, NWACC NOW! The Campaign for YOUR Community College, to support construction of NWACC’s newest academic facility in Washington County. Since opening for classes in January 2020, this new facility has helped NWACC better serve students throughout northwest Arkansas.

As growth of the region continues and NWACC responds to the needs of our community, the NWACC Foundation remains dedicated to connecting donors with philanthropic opportunities to support generations to come in their pursuit of an affordable, accessible and quality education.
